Half of 2022 has passed, and a lot has happened in the cyber security landscape. In this month's newsletter, we would like to shed light on the intensity of attacks against engineering and manufacturing companies, and measures to protect networks from third-party applications. In addition, we would like to point you to an SRF broadcast where our team showed potential weaknesses of Chinese surveillance cameras and an upcoming webinar about effective security in IT, IoT and OT networks.
The Exeon Team wishes you an exciting read.

In today’s cybersecurity landscape, prevention measures and endpoint security solutions are no longer sufficient. Companies also require an ML-powered NDR solution to stop advanced cyberattacks quickly and effectively. To address these developments, Michael, our Sales Director in Germany, will give a webinar (in German) about effective security in IT, IoT and OT networks. Register here.
Surveillance cameras from China, which according to foreign investigations, have serious security flaws, are widely used in Switzerland. To find out how secure Chinese surveillance cameras really are, our team showed the vulnerabilities of those cameras on behalf of SRF (Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen). You can watch this report in the following SRF 10vor10broadcast.
Third-party applications usually act as a black box without transparency into the individual actions or data streams. To prevent third-party applications from introducing malware into the corporate network, companies need to establish network visibility, define permissions and monitor the entire network (including third-party applications). Find out how you can protect yourself against third-party cyber risks in this article, published on the German security portal all-about-security.de.
A recent survey of Swissmem (Association of mechanical and electrical engineering companies) has shown that 70% of the companies surveyed have been the target of at least one cyberattack in the last two years. The potential damage can be enormous and, in extreme cases, can endanger the existence of a company. Due to the digitalisation of business processes and more intensive networking of individual systems, companies must take advanced security measures when digitalising their business operations.
